Bezel Setting Immersion: Craft Gemstone Jewellery with Handmade Settings

Delve into the ancient art of bezel setting—a foundational skill that transforms your jewellery making and creates pieces with significantly higher perceived value. In this intimate workshop, you'll discover how metal can embrace a gemstone in a perfect, protective hug.

Through our day together in my nature-surrounded studio, I'll guide you through creating bezel settings for either a ring or pendant, sharing my personal hacks for simplifying this technique. You'll master the art of crafting odd-shaped, freeform bezels—opening up endless possibilities for working with unique gemstones and found objects.

Working with sterling silver and a selection of beautiful gemstones, you'll learn to:
- Form and solder precise bezels to fit your chosen stones
- Create secure settings that showcase your gems perfectly
- Finish your piece with professional techniques

My approach focuses on demystifying what many consider a challenging technique. I'll break it down into manageable steps, providing plenty of individual guidance as you craft your unique piece.

You'll leave with more than just a beautiful piece of jewellery—you'll take home a transformative skill that elevates every piece you create thereafter, allowing you to incorporate meaningful stones and objects into wearable art.

The day includes a gourmet lunch catered to your dietary preferences, all materials, and access to professional tools. For those inspired to continue practicing at home, tool kits can be pre-ordered when booking.

If you're new to metalsmithing, I recommend starting with my Ring Making Class or Creative Alchemy - Weekend Intensive to build fundamental skills first.

Note: Images shown are examples of bezel setting pieces I've handcrafted..
