The Gillette Set

Every design has an origin story. This one starts with a mother, a daughter, and the diamonds from a wedding ring.

Gill's parents aren't together anymore. But when her mum commissioned this piece for Gill's 30th birthday, she made a decision that only a parent who truly sees their child could make — she took the diamonds from the marriage and asked me to build something new around them. Not to erase the story. To carry it forward.

The result is the Gillette Set. An interlocking nesting arc holding a single statement stone at its centre — in Gill's case, a family heirloom pear-cut citrine — wrapped in a pavé arc set with diamonds that had already lived a full life before this one. Two rings that nest together like two chapters of the same story. The history of where she came from, held in the piece she wears into where she's going.

The sample version centres a 1.9ct fancy pear Australian zircon from Hart's Range, Northern Territory — peach-champagne, with the kind of warmth that shifts with every light source. The arc is set with natural salt and pepper diamonds. The nesting cuff carries two marquise-cut white lab diamonds at each open end. Nothing about this combination is ordinary. All of it is intentional.

This design is endlessly customisable. Bring your own heirloom stone — a grandmother's diamond, an inherited gem, a stone from a ring that no longer fits the life you're living — and I'll build the Gillette around it. Or let me hunt one down for you.
